If it's been weeks, months, or even years since you've sat down before the blank page, you're not alone. This is one of the most common concerns we hear from our community.
Every writer gets stuck, or loses confidence in their abilities.
The good news is that no matter how stuck you think you are, you can always get through the lull, especially with help.
Writing may be a solitary art but the process of becoming a writer is founded on relationships—with peers, agents, editors, readers, and a support system. No writer is an island. We all need community and accountability to thrive.
Writing groups can be one of the ways to find this. Still, sometimes it's hard to find one that feels supportive of your unique goals.
If you're struggling to find that supportive motivation, we have someone who can help: Lyndsay Carder, writing coach and published author.
Lyndsay's coaching approach employs the Kaizen-Muse method that encourages measurable, small steps that help her clients to take action and build momentum through each coaching session.
She helps writers work through imposter syndrome, overwhelm, procrastination, writer's block, and other common creative blocks.
Whether you're looking to get out of a writing lull, overcome a dark night of the soul, build your writerly self-confidence, be held accountable to your craft, and/or access the power of flow, you'll benefit from working with Lyndsay.
Over the course of 3 or 6 months you will meet with Lyndsay every other week for a total of 6 or 12 sessions. Each session includes:
Alternatively, you can book a single session, or as many sessions as you need with Lyndsay.
Lyndsay founded Creating Alchemy with the mission to empower creatives to unlock their potential, feel motivated in their process, and gain creative confidence.
With 10 years of experience in the publishing industry and firsthand experience writing and publishing her own novel, she intimately understands the challenges and rewards of the writing and authorship process.
Her desire to collaborate and connect with like-minded creatives ultimately led her to become a certified Writing Coach.
For the last 5 years, she has worked with writers and authors in all aspects of the process, and has coached them professionally.
"I had been stuck for about two years on my novel, and I knew some of what I needed to do, but it was hard to get started. My sessions with Lyndsay really catapulted me to get going, reread my manuscript, and apply to a mentorship program for authors who are ready to submit their manuscripts. Her coaching through this process has helped me take action steps in my process—hopefully with better results than if I just tried to do it all on my own. I feel free to finally start thinking in earnest about my next novel. Lyndsay really helped kick off a creative snowball, so to speak, and she encouraged me to finally realize the life goal of completing my manuscript and move forward with a more positive mindset!"
— Jeanette Horn, Published Author and Poet, Professional Technical Writer
"Lyndsay was such a pleasure to work with. She really understood the creative struggles I was experiencing, especially related to my business. There's so much to do, it's easy to get overwhelmed. But Lyndsay helped me figure out what I needed to do next and how to break it down into small, manageable steps. The best part was she kept me moving forward. Lyndsay also made sure I was doing something creative just for me. She's a fantastic creative guide, plus smart and funny! I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again."
— Gina Clark, Gina Clark Creative
"Lyndsay at Creating Alchemy helped me explore my own process for unlocking my creativity. I was looking for something more out of life but wasn't sure what that was. Lyndsay's coaching helped me find my voice, how I could help others, and find the freedom I was looking for. She didn't hold me to deadlines but instead allowed me to evolve organically, thus making the process of discovering my unique creativity truly a journey of growth and inspiration."
— Angelina Slusser, Festively Savvy
"Lyndsay’s thoughtful and supportive coaching style encouraged me to explore ideas that had been simmering in my mind (for a while). Through her kind questions and sense of humor, I was inspired to create and finalize a presentation on time, and I had fun doing it! Thank you, Lyndsay."
