Coaching

Writ·ing Coach

[rahy-ting kohch] noun.

A cheerleader. Mentor. Teacher. Occasional stalker, but only when necessary to hold one to aforementioned and agreed upon goals.

Good coaches breed success. They scout for potential talent and then nurture and develop that talent into winners. But it takes motivated players. And you must be one, or you wouldn’t be here researching ways to improve your skill set. I’m impressed.

Most likely, you have a project in mind and you need help with it. Maybe you’ve wanted to write for years and don’t know where to begin. Maybe you have a rough idea, a simple concept that needs developed. Or maybe, you’re mid-project and you’ve run out of steam.

I understand—writing is a challenging sport. I’d love to help.

Why me—how can I help?

I’ve paid my dues. I’ve spent countless hours studying the craft and learning the industry. I’ve invested time, money, and energy into discovering and implementing successful techniques as a writer. I’ve faced my share of rejections but enjoyed a good deal of success.  I’ve been published nationally and internationally and am agented by a leading agent. Since becoming a writing coach I’ve helped launch the writing careers of many women. But most importantly, I am passionate about helping you succeed. Like a moth unexplainably drawn to light, I love watching you uncover and walk in your life purpose.

If you are serious about succeeding in your writing career, I invite you to learn more about our teleconferences and training opportunities. Workshops

Through her workshops, Jo Ann leads women on a heart-journey into a new land. A place where a painful past serves as a path to a greater purpose, and redemption becomes more important than explanation.

Jo Ann offers these workshops for women’s events, live and online. Contact her here for more information or to schedule.

Write Where It Hurts: Writing as a Healing Tool

Many women use journaling as a form of self-therapy, but it often amounts to little more than unburdening. Without divine intervention, journaling in itself doesn’t usually lead to a genuine healing connection. Write Where It Hurts gives women a practical technique. They learn to use expressive writing together with biblical truth to reconcile painful experiences with God’s purpose for their lives. This workshop offers simple, yet transformative writing exercises in a safe and supportive environment.

A Purpose for Our Pain: Healing Begins at Perspective

Like the disciples who asked Jesus about a man blind from birth, sometimes we need to blame someone for the pain in our lives. But we have the wrong question. Rather than, “Why me?” we need to ask, “What’s next?” This workshop, with writing exercises, challenges women to reengage life from a divine perspective. God can use all things for good-even pain and suffering. Women learn how their lives are providentially connected with others and how to invest in the lives of other hurting women.
